Foundation for Cohesive Communities

Mission: our mission is to support community inclusion of disabled children and youth. Vision: we envision our communities as places where all people are valued and met exactly where they are at. We see our communities embracing diversity in its fullest form where eventually inclusion just becomes part of our everyday mindset. Background: cohesive is a grassroots group of parents professionals and advocates for inclusion. We believe the stories of our famulues can inform and re-imagine the environments in which we live work and play. The purpose of our foundation is to provide resource support and advocate for disabled children and their families to fully and meaningfully participate in all aspects of community life. For us this means: - providing resource support to families - advocating for inclusive community environments - providing information and referrals - identifying and breaking down barriers to inclusion - partnering with and providing information and expertise to community organizations on inclusive design
