There is a permanent centres for seniros (of any background) to socialize at 4225 notre dame street west. Occasionaly lunch get-togethers are organized for seniors especially in summer. New immigrants in quebec are provided with assistance in orientation/integration and finding new housing. Services for those new arrivals not proficient in either french or english include language classes; translation of documents; infromation and access to government services and programs; accompanying a person to government and private offices such as immigration and services canada visit to hospitals doctors clsc etc for interpretation; facilitation teacher-parent meetings. Other programs include providing help in computer skills development encouraging participation of youth in cultural activities facilitating community consultation with government and social serviecs agencies. We are providing the services to the new immigrants since 1992 with the help ov volunteers who coordnate the above
