First-Wesley United Church

Acts as a local congregation of the United Church of Canada providing weekly worship services for members and adherents as well as church school and youth programming. We provide pastoral care and faith formation/spiritual exploration for members adherents and the broader community. We provide a variety of mid-week ministries for men women and children. We work at the Thunder Bay Food Bank and Shelter House Thunder Bay and provide funds to support them. We provide volunteer leadership and funds in support of 7 school milk and breakfast programs in Thunder Bay. We donate funds to the UnitedChurch of Canada for local/regional/provincial and over-seas missions and theological training of future clergy and church leaders. We provide a drop-off location for donations to a local women's/family abuse shelter. We provide labour and funds to support a children's church camp. We provide assistance (food clothing bus tickets counseling referrals) for working poor and local indigent persons. We provide meeting and activity space for a variety of community-based programs (i.e. Indian Friendship Centre programs Alcoholics Anonymous)
