Fiji Islamic Society of Canada

The purposes of the Society are to advance the religion of Islam by: (a)teaching adherents and preaching publicly the religious tenets practices and observances of Islam; (b)establishing maintaining and operating mosques or houses of worship for communal prayer and other religious services (c)conducting religious services observances rites and celebrations in accordance with the tenets and practices of Islam; (d)establishing maintaining and operating facilities for the study of the Qur’an and other Islamic religious literature and music and for religious educational programs and workshop; and (e)establishing maintaining and operating a burial ground and ancillary facilities for the burial and funeral services of Sunni Muslims In addition to the purposes stated above the Society provides support assistance and other services to members of Muslim Community in British Columbia (B.C.) Canada and maintains unity amongst the Muslims and other communities.
