SCHOLARSHIPS: a) Four (4) travel scholarships to science journalists from Indonesia Republic of Congo Kennya and Uganda to participate in the fifth International Network for Government Science Advice (INGSA) meeting in Kigali Rwanda from May 1-3 2024; b) Three (3) travel scholarships to science journalists from Greece Mexico and the United States to attend the Kavli Prize week in Norway September 2024. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING: a) Four (4) workshops in three different languages – English French and Spanish – took place online during September and October with the eventual implementation of Guidelines for Journalists Covering Science. A final one was held in person in English on Nov. 19th in Budapest. The Guiding Principles for Journalists Covering Science were presented to the 45 associations which attendent the 2024 Annual General Meeting of the World Federation of Science Journalists on Nov. 20th 2024 in Budapest and are accessible at: https://wfsj.org/resources/ethics-science-journalism/. b) Final payments on a Science Journalism Symposium held in Chile in 2023 within the Spark Grants Initiative. RESEARCH: 'Guiding Principles for Science Journalism – A Global Perspective 2024' presenting the results of a worldwide survey done by Brazil’s National Institute of Public Communication of Science and Technology hosted at Casa de Oswaldo Cruz/Fiocruz on ethics in science journalism was published and can be downloaded from : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Hwmo0Zy2oSSpW2INiU_pqBROwEygOj2K/view 2024 program activities were direct continuation and implementation of programs initiated earlier particularly with the conclusion of the program on Ethics in Science Journalism initiated in 20219.
