Fear Is Not Love Society

CWES operates a 50-bed first stage emergency shelter for women and children fleeing domestic violence. The clients are provided with free lodging food clothing and incidentals for up to 21 days. After this period assistance is provided in acquiring affordable housing within the City of Calgary. During the course of their stay professional crisis counseling is provided as part of the program. A 24-hour emergency helpline is provided for women in immediate crisis. Court support services are provided to clients attending court cases. Community outreach counseling and support is provided for the following: 1) Clients that have left the shelter to assist in their integration into normal life 2) Women and children at risk of family violence but unable to move to the Shelter 3) Teen counseling and support through high school program in forming or maintaining healthy relationships 4) Counseling and support for men who have been or feel at risk of becoming a perpetrator of domestic violence
