Caught in the Middle: It is a program for children and parents who are separated or divorced. Caught in the Middle offers family members the opportunity to explore the changes that have happened in the family with a primary focus on the parent-child relationship. Parents and children participate in separate peer support groups led by professionally-trained facilitators. The groups provide a safe place to discuss the challenges of separation in a supportive confidential and neutral learning environment. Counselling for individuals (children/youth and adults) 6 years and up art therapy/play therapy techniques for individuals 4 yrs and up. Facilitated Parent-Child Connections: This program is designed to facilitate safe contact between children and their parents for a variety of reasons including when a child and parent have had no contact and are being introduced; when there has been a lengthy absence of contact; or when there has been one or more of the following concerns about a parent: violence alcohol or drug misuse lack of mental well-being or a lack of knowledge of parenting skills. Mediation for Couples: Mediation is a process that fosters collaboration providing a framework for settling disputes that may arise in the future. Mediation will provide clients with improved communication and negotiation skills. Separation Resource Services: orientation to family law whether you are pre-separated or already separated; overview of dispute resolution options and legal resources available in the community; coaching for effective participation in mediation and in self-representation at court; tips on preparing for lawyer interviews to efficiently use time; assistance in finding court forms and help in filling them out; accompaniment to lawyer appointment and/or court.
