Etobicoke Historical Society

Monthly local historical related speaker nights presented live and online the ehs historian answers questions and advises with respect to individuals historical projects and questions. The society maintains an archive of artifacts and documents that the society makes available to people working on historical projects and research. The society maintains a website that provides access to historical photographs and information as well as research and a catalogue of the archives. Educational/promotional activities a seven-month virtual-historical exhibit 'where the alders grow' at the historic montgomery's inn that is now available on the society's website. The society annually produces seven digital issues of its aldernews newsletter. The society annually provides two awards one for outstanding contributions to historical awareness and heritage preservation and one for individuals contributing articles to the aldernews and to stimulate interest in writing for it. The society participates in efforts to put historical plaques on historic buildings and structures. The society participates in the etobicoke commnunity fair at cloverdale mall and the the fall fair at fairfield park.
