Esk-omi missions (missions esqu-omi) raised funds from individua;s corporations religious organizations and charitable foundations. After administrativ costs the balance was turned over to its associated charity the roman catholic diocese of churchill-hudson bay. The funds were used by the diocese to carry out its work in the territory of nunavut (eastern canadian arctic). This included: 1) providing for the needs of its missionary priests nuns and lay persons; 2) provide training and other assistance to its catechists and catechetics animators; and 3) maintain its missions buildings and repair them or construct new ones when there is a need to do so.
