About Equip Kids in Developing Societies International
We held 6 workshops for Peruvian families and teachers of children with disabilities providing information on how to support and teach children with disabilities at home at school and in the community. We also provided continued augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) therapy and support (online and in person) and as well as online educational support to approximately 15 families and two local schools. In addition we developed electronic educational and rehabilitation materials that could be easily shared with families and teachers in order to further support children with disabilities and we refurbished maintained and provided assistive technology (such as wheelchairs) for 5 families and several schools and rehabilitation centres. Finally we supported community groups teachers and community-based rehabilitation programs by providing information educational materials and direct support to children with disabilities in southern Peru.
