About Engineering and Geoscience Education Foundation Inc.
The Foundation continues to invest donations in its endowment funds with The Winnipeg Foundation to grow the endowment funds. The Foundation also continues to accept donations from the past-presidents of the Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba association to purchase publications for the Engineering section of the Jim Peebles Science and Technology Library at the University of Manitoba. The Foundation continues to receive donations in support of its program to provide bursaries for foreign-trained engineers seeking academic qualification for registration as engineers in Manitoba; and for funding of infrastructure projects supporting engineering and geoscience at the Brandon University and University of Manitoba. The Foundation has established a 'Removing Barriers for Engineers and Geoscientists' program to support students of engineering and the goesciences who otherwise would not have the opportunity to complete their degrees as engineers or geoscientists. The Foundation will work closely with Manitoba's universities to provide funding for needs not addressed through existing bursaries and other programs. It is hoped that the Foundation endowment will support funding for both engineering and geoscience student support for years to come. The initial target is $125 000 in donations in the first years of the fundraising campaign.
