To support students in achieving reading success by the end of grade two elementary literacy inc. Offers two reading programs free of charge to elementary schools across new brunswick. Elementary literacy friends (elf) and communautes litteratle enfants francophones (clef). Elf and clef are designed as supplementary reading achievement programs that can be effectively implemented reading achievement programs that can be effectively implemented by community volunteers who have no background in education or teaching children to read. Students benefit from one-on-one attention from a trained community volunteers devoted to improving their reading abilities building self-esteem and fostering a love of reading. Elf/clef mentors work one-on-one with students twice a week after school. Elementary literacy inc. Also offers the barton program in-person for children with learning disabilities. This program is delivered on a cost-recovery basis.
