Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations

Provided training and educational programs for staff and volunteers of local and regional nonprofit and charitable organizations - examples include board governance leadership and human resources. The charity sustains and supports local community organization collaborations. These collaborations produce ongoing capacity building programs and services for local nonprofits and charities. We convened a number of communities of practice in areas such as human resources advocacy and governance. Represented the perspective of edmonton's and alberta's nonprofit community on municipal provincial and federal issues through legislative review submissions: and participated in various working groups and advisory tables. Worked with government post secondary and private sector to promote understanding of the nonprofit sector and addres cross cutting issues included participation in working groups. Provide information and resources to nonprofits through channels such as bi-weekly e-newsletter; digital data portals (the nonprofit vote abnn); our website; and various social media platforms. Developed a shared service model for nonprofit organizations in the areas of human resources and board governance.
