About Ebenezer Toronto Gore Historical Foundation
The ongoing maintenance and restoration of the pioneer chapel and cemetery at the corner of Ebenezer Road and The Gore Rd. Brampton ON is the primary program carried out by the E TGHF. The building is rented regularly by two different groups from the local community. Volunteers participate in local Peel Region and Brampton Historical Society activities. We answer or direct inquiries on historical topics from the surrounding community. Recent inquiries have been researched for families who had ancestors living and working in the area. Members are assembling documents and personal stories to create a book on 200 plus years of Toronto Gore Township Peel County. In 1974 it became part of the City of Brampton Region of Peel. The wooden front doors were refinished. A new cover for the outside exit door and stairway was installed. We anticipate future restoration of the pioneer cemetery as funds allow. Plan to participate in Heritage Day at the Bramalea City Centre and Doors Open. Heritage gardens were expanded and maintained. Correspondence/research for family inquiries from Red Deer Alberta and Mississauga.
