About Easter Seals Alberta Society
We provide mobility equipment and support services for the disabled operate a camp for individuals with disabilities and special needs and maintain a residence for 9 individuals with disabilities. We also provide post secondary scholarships for disabled students and public education to teach youth how to handle adversity and interact with the disabled. Adventure Camp is an evidence-informed program that supports inquiry-based learning designed to enhance a natural support network. Natural supports are the non-professional relationships in one’s life- family members friends neighbors and other vital connections. Evidence has shown that natural supports play a critical role in promoting resiliency social integration and positive development. Easter Seals Alberta’s Family Resource CenterThe Family Resource Center is a trusted hub providing vital guidance and resources to families and caregivers in need. We empower families with information and tools to advocate for their loved ones. Our compassionate assistance spans all life stages helping navigate systems access funding and service providers connect with natural supports and more. We offer support with Guardianship Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) and Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) applications. Our services are available both in person and virtually to meet families’ needs.
