Protection and preservation of the 540 km East Coast Trail. Performing trail maintenance on the trails. Approximately 336 km are developed. Providing a hiking program for our members and general public operated by volunteers. Working with land owners municipal and provincial government to maintain and secure public access and rights of way. Worked with the province of Newfoundland and Labrador to seek policy and legislative changes required to protect the trail and coastline. Sold maps guidebooks memberships and other items to support the trail and increase awareness to our hikers. Promoted the Association its mandate and safety messages through social media community fairs information booths and radio talk shows.
