East Central Alberta Heritage Society

The east central alberta heritage societ is an organization dedicated to increasing the recognition and preservation of the 'palliser trail' an historical corridor between the town of drumheller and the city of camrose. The society embraces the historic importance and railway history of the corridor while working to create a unified eco-tourism marketing region. Programs are in place to acquire and maintain viable existing railway track and right-of ways while identifying historical sites and improving them as part of the palliser trail. With the goal of enhancing tourism and economic development special events are hosted to promote the importance of our railway history benefiting all communities along the trail. Work on linear parks along the trail encouraging guests to visit the region while learning about the history of the area. To increase awareness of the organization and further reach the society goals of increasing and improving tourism while maintaining historical sites within the corridor. To create and/or build on existing plans to make the connection between meeting creek and morrin a unified historic ecological marketing entity.
