The organization provides employment aid throughout the durham region. The organization is dedicated in assisting the unemployed and under-employed adult reach their employment goals by providing support and services without judgement such as career and employment counselling various in-house workshops support groups and rescources for job seekers the durham region unemployed help centre (druhc) undertakes as the lead agency of the pickering welcome centre and as an employment ontario employment services (eoes) provider. Namley reducing or removing barriers to employment for marginalized individuals including racialized communities. As lead agency of the pickering welcome centre the druhc supports newcomers multi-culture and marginalized job seekers in all stages of their settlement and job search journey including connecting immigrant professionals with career related employment opportunities through programs such as; hiring immigrant professional talent (hip t) and pathway to newcomers success(pns) providing immigrant professionals and other newcomers with the skills supports rescources and knowledge required to secure commensurate employment in canada.
