Durham Council for the Arts

(1) we continue to publish our award-winning magazine of arts + ideas. It showcases visual + performing arts throughout the region and beyond - with news reviews interviews art photography fiction poetry + opinions as well as a calendar of events. Artsforum attracts contributions by some of canadas leading writers photographers & artists-earning it a place as the region's preeminet journal of art and ideas. (2) we continue to operate our acclaimed film program. Over 32 000 people have attended (3) we continue to serve as an informal referral + information source connecting people + groups. (4) we continue to advocate for the creation of a not-for-profit regional center for the performing + visual arts. (5) we continue to assess individuals & groups as potential recipients for our 'acorn awards' to recognize artistic cultural & intellectual achievement across the region.
