Advocacy Access program assists people with all disabilities to access income assistance (provincial and federal disability benefits) medical goods and services. It also produces self-help guides and manuals for people with disabilities and other community organizations that assist people with disabilities. Community and Resident Mentors Association (CARMA) Program empowers people living in the George Pearson Centre (a long-term care facility) to promote their health independence and community connections. Transition Magazine is a tri-annual community magazine producing articles from contributors throughout BC on topical disability issues. Access RDSP Program assists people with disabilities in applying for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC) which gives them access to government credits and savings including the Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP). Right Fit Program assists wheelchair users in obtaining affordable accessible housing. Accessibility Projects Grants Program administers funds by the BC Government to community organizations for the purpose of increasing access for people with disabilities in their communities. TAX AID and Volunteer Income Tax Preparation Program assists people with disabilities file their income taxes year-round as well as assists in applying for the BC fuel tax rebate for people with disabilities. Disability Law Clinic assists people with disabilities with disability law issues. The Law Clinic provides legal information referrals and free legal representation on matters related to discrimination based on disability. Disability Without Poverty BC is a new project focused on advocating for the inclusion of people with disabilities in the design and implementation of the upcoming Canada Disability Benefit.
