Delta Life Skills Society

Provide a six week recreational based summer camp for children and youth with disabilities. Our participants benefit from the structure of a daily routine which is incredibly important to their development. Keeping a consistent routine over the long summer break is difficult and without our program to give participants that many will lose the life skills they gained over the school year making their community access more limited. We also have a social club which is for pre-teens and older meeting the first saturday of each month for 2.5 hours in the evening. The social club provides an opporunity for participants to hang out with their friends in a safe supported environment something typical teenagers get to do. To facilitate friendships the ratio of staff to participants is between 2:1 and 3:1 this year we had a raffle and a paint party to raise funds for our charity.
