Daily Bread Food Bank

Ongoing programs: the mission of the daily bread food bank is to alleviate hunger and help fight the underlying poverty that causes hunger. This is done in several ways: 1. Through the collection and distribution of food through its 108 000 sq. Ft. Distribution center to its approximately 170 member agency programs. 2. Ensuring that food distribution occuts across toronto by supporting agencies in their initial creation and ongoing operations. 3. Through research on poverty education and advocating for improved government policies to eliminate poverty. 4. Providing an information and referral service to clients covering issures such as housing education employment or social assistance. 5. Daily bread also runs 8000 sq. Ft. Industrial kitchen. The kitchen prepares soups and casseroles to be served toronto's meal projgrams. 6. Daily bread also acts as a major distribution point for feed ontario in distributing food across ontario. 7. Daily bread gives food and financial support to its member agency food banks for operation and client service needs.
