Crowsnest Nordic Ski Club

Maintaining 53 kms of cross country ski trails and multi use trails by snowshoers hikers and fat bikers. Organize a loppet (ski race) on the first saturday of february. Social activities such as moonight skis and bbqs. Our nordiq alberta sanctioned 'learn to ski' programs get more popular each year and we continue to loan ski equipment to members who require it. Following the success of our suzuki truck the coleman lions helped us buy a second truck which enables the grooming of the ski trails to be done even more effectively. Government of alberta funding has enabled us to smooth out many of the ski trails making the skiing more enjoyable and the grooming work safer. We have partnered with the local high school so that their woodwork classes have made us a trail shelter. This means high school students get a credit and we benefit by having the shelter. We expect to have them build more of these. We are also allowing school classes to use some of the ski equipment that is not loaned out so introducing more youth to cross country skiing and being active in the winter.
