Watt continues to deliver alternative pathway to employment in the electrical trade by providing career exploration skills training that leads to secure employment and ongoing supports to enable those facing barriers to successfully complete their apprenticeships. All roads services partners with first nations communities across the province to develop pathways for program participants to find their way to lasting jobs in support of their community. Sky keepers is focused on supporting indigenous participants through a skills for success training program including drone training and certification and a soft skills curriculum. Welcome exchange provides specialized events for youth and adult newcomers to build employment connections and foster community integration and understanding of canadian indigenous cultures. Skills ready continues to build bridges between industry and the next generation of skilled professionals by bringing industry members to classrooms across bc. Road to red seal provides support to apprentices who are struggling to complete their red seal certification through tutoring psych ed assessments exam accommodations etc. The first peoples housing standard will seek to design and pilot and accredited competency-based framework/curriculum for first nations housing trades that aligns with the developed first nations led building standard in bc our trail makers and refram programs support people on the path to overcoming multiple obstacles to secure meaningful employment in trades and industry sectors. Through a collaborative approach rooted in indigenous wisdom these programs offer holistic supports for barriered youth creating opportunities for self and occupational improvement in partnership with community organizations trail makers and reframe creates safe spaces for deep engagement empowering participants to thrive in their careers lives and communities.
