Community Options: A Society for Children and Families. Our organization strives to be a leader in the provision of inclusive quality programs and services for children and families. Our Community Preschool Education program provides inclusion opportunities throughout Edmonton region for children between 2.5 to 6 years of age. (Children must meet Alberta Education criteria for Program Unit Funding). Our staff of professionals develops an educational program individualized to meet childs additional needs. Parents are encouraged to be involved in family oriented programming and in decision making about the childs individual program plan. We operate Edmonton Northwest Child Care Centre Edmonton Northwest Out of School Care and Edmonton Northwest preschool program in the Inglewood neighborhood. We believe that children s programs should provide experiences that foster each child s growth and development as a total human being. This implies attention to the enhancement of skills in all areas of development social physical intellectual creative and emotional. Programs endeavor to create an environment where friendships are facilitated; each child learns positive concepts of him/her and others and establishes wholesome patterns for feeling and behaving. We also offer opportunities for families for social inclusion and support within this community through providing a number of community activities.
