Ongoing programs: Review the ongoing and new programs listed below to ensure they are still valid. CLI’s ongoing programs include: 1. CLI’s core programming is offering plain language legal information through our inquiry line our website and in person at our office. We also provide a low-cost lawyer referral service for the general public to speak with a lawyer for legal advice. 2. Addressing Workplace Harassment on PEI is a 5-year project funded by Justice Canada. It ended March 31 2024. This is the fifth year of the project with a goal to provide tailored legal information and free legal advice from trauma informed lawyers to Islanders who need this support. 3. Supporting Victims of Sexual Violence is a two-year project funded by the Government of Prince Edward Island’s Department of Justice and Public Safety. This project is part of our RISE Program. The goal of this project is to provide tailored legal information and free legal advice from trauma informed lawyers to victims of sexual violence. This project contract ended March 31 2024. This project has been extended with a new agreement for RISE General Funding. 4. Renting PEI- This program offers free legal information and low-cost lawyer referrals to tenants and landlords. This was the fifth year for the project and its funding has been renewed for another year from the PEI Department of Housing Land and Communities. 5. Supporting Victims of Intimate Partner Violence. This project was launched in 2021-2022 and is a four-year project funded by Justice Canada. The goal of the project is to provide tailored legal information and free legal advice from trauma informed lawyers to victims of intimate partner violence on PEI. 6. Legalized Supports for Racialized People. Is a four-year project funded by Justice Canada that began in the 2022-2023 fiscal year. We have branded this project Justice Avenues.
