During 2024 the CHILD Foundation continued its ongoing programs of poverty relief disaster relief and education in Haiti India and South Africa. For poverty relief CHILD sent $36 000 to the Haitian Children's Aid Society (Canadian charity) to support a program which feeds over 300 malnourished children in Haiti as well as for medications and staff scholarships. In India CHILD provided $18 406 for rice and protein-rich foods for 120 children in a children's home run by Metropolitan Mission (MM) in M.V. Gudem in addition to $5 000 for Christmas clothes and blankets for widows around Vijayawada Andhra Pradesh and $10 000 for a tailoring program. $18 041 was also sent to Metropolitan Mission to provide milk eggs and fruit to children living in poverty in a school in Hyderabad. For disaster relief in India CHILD sent $10 000 for the drilling of wells in the drought-stricken state of Andhra Pradesh as well as $7 000 for food and essential supplies for victims of flood and displacement. For the education of young students CHILD provided $34 608 for teachers' salaries and bonuses and $10 467 for books and uniforms for the students at the Creo Harvey Primary and Alpha Creo schools run by MM in India. CHILD also continued supporting 'Smoking & Alcohol Harms Alleviation & Rehabilitation Association' (SAHARA) in South Africa with $44 000 which was used for staff salaries and purchasing medications to help people overcome substance use disorder. SAHARA assists people to reduce or stop alcohol tobacco or drug use thereby limiting harm within the community. SAHARA provides treatment and medicines free of charge to people and provides training for service providers in management of substance use disorder.
