Scholarships a scholarship or scholarships will be set up for secondary students in the chemainus area. As the foundation's funds grow more scholarships will be created on vancouver island. The scholarships may become renewable for each year of post-secondary education. The scholarship will be awarded on a combination of academic excellence service to the community and economic need. Emergency aid fund the foundation will set up a fund to relieve poverty by providing emergency financial assistance to impoverished and low-income families in british columbia. The fund will be used to assist individuals and families in a situation of emergent need where other government or social programs are not available or insufficient for the particular need. Examples of grants are: - medical travel off vancouver island including ferry costs accommodation and living expenses (food gas parking) - travel for medical treatment on vancouver island - specialized medical devices not otherwise covered by b.c. Medical or other charities.
