Coastal Rivers Conservancy

Coastal Rivers Conservancy (CRC) continued to undertake scientific research to improve knowledge of unique salmon and steelhead populations and habitats within the inner Central Coast of British Columbia. CRC collaborated with government agencies universities First Nations salmon experts and stakeholders to identify and perform this research. CRC recruited 10 volunteers to help with fieldwork on select projects. Knowledge gained from our work will inform fisheries management and salmon stewardship actions. CRC also supported indigenous-led youth education efforts by providing funding for two internship positions with Nuxalk Nation’s Supporting Emerging Aboriginal Stewards program and by hosting educational field trips with local salmon biologists.
