Earthquake disaster exercises with the city of nanaimo and nanaimo regional district . This is normally a four day event usually held in june [this has been postponed last year due to covid] however expected to continue for this coming year. We continue to train in the use of digital radio programs to pass on information more quickly and accurately during disasters. We help provide communicaitons for swiftsure sailing race and nanimo international bathtub race. We participate in arrl field day to practice emergency communications 9in the field. Total volunteer hours 2022-2023 were over 2 000 hours. New programs [with the aftermath of covid 19 behind us ] several one day simulated emergency training exercises[sets] with the city of nanaimo and nanaimo regional district utilizing our grab and go kits. These exercises will simulate different types of disasters and communication needs. Additional improvements in our repeater network to cover the entire nanaimo regional district
