Civix

Civix is a civic education charity dedicated to developing the habits of active and informed citizenship among children and youth. Student vote is the signature program of civix. Coinciding with general elections students learn about government and the electoral process research the parties and candidates and cast ballots in a parallel vote. Civix also coordinates government budget consultations for youth (student budget consultation) and meetings between students and their elected representatives (rep day) and designs resources to support digital media literacy (ctrl-f) and constructive discussion skills (politalks). Civix also organizes professional development opportunities for teachers (democracy bootcamp).
