Christie Lake Kids

Christie lake kids is a not-for-profit charitable organization whose mission is to enrich the lives and prospects of economically disadvantaged children by providing quality year-round community and camp programs to develop physical social and charater skills. They have three cost-free programs to help accomplish this mission: (1) christie lake camp where kids have the chance to experience the beauty of the natural world - to swim in a lake paddle a canoe sit by a campfire (2) christie lake s.t.a.r in the after school hours which stands for 'skills through arts and recreation' and includes activities such as sports cooking and music and (3) christie lake l.i.t. Which stands for 'leaders in training' to support teens in a leadership and skills development program. Christie lake kids uses the t-rec (transformative recreation) model which is an outcomes measurement tool to support the physical social and emotional learning of vulnerable children and youth.
