About Christian Reformed Campus Ministry - Northern British Columbia
The purpose of the charity is to provide spiritual support (from a Christian Reformed perspective) to the students staff and educators at UNBC through the work of a Campus Minister (Chaplain). Our new campus minister was hired in August 2023 and is working 0.75 FTE (based on her availability). In her first year she has made connections with students staff educators and support persons related to UNBC and provided support via various activities. She met with some one-on-one some in group settings organized various events such as a weekly soup lunch in the university's chapel a weekly 'painting in peace' time Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and worked along side others for retreats care package distribution and other events. She chairs the university's InterFaith Chaplaincy Committee. With a new Campus Minister all the programs are new again though there is some overlap in activities between the out-going chaplain and the new one. The change to three-quarter time is a challenge as there are always more opportunities to serve but not necessarily the time to take them - but the ministry is blessed with someone who makes the best of the time available to spread the love of Christ advice and support.
