About Cepal-Canadian-Palestinian Educational Exchange
Educating Canadians on the connections between refugee education in Lebanon and the broader goal of human rights in the West Asia [Middle East] region. These activities directed at Canadians sought to explain and position the education of refugees in Lebanon and particularly of youth in Palestinian refugee camps inside a longer history of dispossession and oppression of Palestinians in the MENA region. On-line tutoring for graduating refugee high school students early-stage / remedial adult students in English: For this activity CEPAL partnered with ULYP (Unite Lebanon Youth Program) to enlist Canadian tutors for refugee youth who are about to enter universities in Lebanon or preparatory colleges outside the country such as United World College. In preparation of restarting our overseas program CEPAL completed an in-depth needs assessment with various stakeholders in Lebanon and partnered with SHINE in order to send two volunteers to refugee camps in Lebanon to teach English.
