Central British Columbia Railway and Forest Industry Museum Society

Curatorial: curatorial activities are core museum activities. Our mission is to preserve restore and interpret artifacts of historical significance related to the railways and industrial development on central bc. The curatorial program is integral to this project as it is responsible for acquiring documenting database updating researching maintaining and managing our collection. Education: our community was built on industry. We offer a collection of educational programs that are conducted for school classes university students and adults with a general interest in industry throughout our facility and grounds. What better way to educate our children about our future than to show them our past. With local technological developments (a number of pre-patent examples) that were developed in prince george for the use in forest industry. The museum is a valuable learning tool for educators. We also work with community based organizations to provide space for therapy dog training art classes and yoga classes in our indoor gallery space. We are conducting an extensive inventory logging process and restoration program identifying the pieces most in need of either restoration or conservation.
