Catalyst Theatre Society of Alberta

In june 2023 we hired a professional crew to shoot nevermore - the imaginary life & mysterious death of edgar allan poe over three days at vertigo theatre in calgary. Later we co-produced and presented a workshop of chump by sue goberdhan exploring her guyanese canadian upbringing featuring a cast of eight and culminating in a community dinner for over 50 people. In august we announced our 2024 confluence fellow métis artist danielle larose and began her season-long residency to develop the poisoner's daughter. In october we participated in theatre yes' fundraiser for the edmonton food bank performing hamlet with 19 students raising over $10 000. From september to may we ran our associate production management program with support from the edmonton community foundation providing emerging production managers with hands-on experience and creating a production management handbook shared at the citt conference. In december we began rehearsals for the invisible - agents of ungentlemanly warfare at the grand theatre in london on refining the show for a successful run in january and february. In may we held a gala premiere screening of the filmed version of the invisible at zeidler hall followed by the launch of our online store with new albums and the film available for streaming.
