Care Centre for Internationally Educated Nurses

Provide one to one counselling and case management to prepare internationally educated nurses to be successful in obtaining registration to practice nursing in Ontario. Provide various support services for internationally educated nurses including language and communication skills training within a nursing and healthcare context exam preparation and review observational job shadowing placement employment strategies support and ongoing guidance about integrating into the Canadian nursing profession. Pre-arrival supports for internationally educated nurses including: information and orientation webinars occupation specific communications training and mentorship opportunities. (1)'virtual mentoring which allows IENs mentored by expert nurses to familiarize IENs with the Canadian Workplace through ZOOM or other electronic platforms. (2) Workplace Integration Program for employers and the interprofessional health care team to prepare a more inclusive work environment for IENs. (3) Meet the employer sessions to allow IENs to ask hiring managers about job opportunities in their organizations.
