Cap Foundation

Educational activities include the Canadian Association of Physicists' secondary school exam the University Prize exam a national lecture tour program an undergraduate conference and a prize at the Canada-Wide Science Fair all supported by donations to the CAPF. The CAPF also supports Canadian attendees for the biannual Canada-America-Mexico graduate student conference. In 2009 the CAPF established a HS/CEGEP Teacher's Award fund for grants to an outstanding HS/CEGEP Physics Teacher in each of the five defined regions in Canada starting in 2010. In 2011 the CAPF established a Stoicheff Graduate Student Scholarship Fund with Interest earned used to award a scholarship to a deserving physics graduate every even year. In 2020 the Allan Carswell Physics Educator Scholarship Endowment Fund was established with interest earned being used to award scholarships every year to one or two deserving physics graduates who wish to pursue a career as a high school physics teacher. Donations in 2021 established a Svensson scholarship similar to the Stoicheff one to be awarded in odd years funds permitting. In 2023 the CAPF received a donation to establish an endowment fund supporting the CAP's Annual Lecture Tour. No new programs in 2024.
