The Canadian UNICEF Committee (UNICEF Canada) supports the core work of UNICEF the leading advocate for children's rights active in almost every country in the world. UNICEF helps children survive and thrive from early childhood through adolescence with programs to ensure child health and nutrition safe water and sanitation quality basic education for all boys and girls and the protection of children from violence exploitation and HIV and AIDS. Our work includes the provision and distribution of vaccines against preventable childhood diseases and vitamin and micronutrient supplements; education and counselling to prevent HIV and AIDS transmission among young people and from mother to child; clean water and sanitation facilities; basic primary education; family and community education programs to reduce violence against children. As well UNICEF Canada funds life-saving emergency relief programs that provides humanitarian assistance to children affected by emergencies. We also advocate to all levels of the Canadian government for policies that will support and improve the well-being of children. UNICEF is supported entirely by voluntary donations and helps children regardless of race religion or politics. Our determination and reach are unparalleled. Because at UNICEF we are for every child.
