Canadian Osteogenesis Imperfecta Society

During the fiscal year june 30 2024 the charity continued the development of three initiatives and implemented a fourth initiative. First the development of a national registry of specialist doctors familiar with osteogenesis imperfecta. The intent is that this registry will be a resource tool for families with osteogenesis imperfecta second the development of an infrastructure to provide families with osteogenesis imperfecta with a medical fracture kit. Efforts are ongoing to establish suppliers identification of families and medical practitioners. Third the ongoing development of social media tools as means of informing families of resources and support when experiencing osteogenesis imperfecta. The fourth initiative is the introduction of a bursary program to promote research and interest in osteogenesis imperfecta with medical practitioners and scholars. Systems have been designed to identify and vet applicants using professional medical practitioners already engaged in research.
