Mental health education and awards programs for canadian journalism in english and french. Supporting research into the mental health and well-being of canadian journalists and helping news organizations and freelancers develop specialized protocols in the connection. Providing bursaries for freelancers to attend hostile environment & first aid training courses. Co-operating with similar entities world wide through acos (a culture of safety) alliance of which the forum is a founding memeber. In co-operation with the university of victoria we have given guidance and support to volunteers handling a board range of trauma victims for an educational project for use in schools. Our new trauma assistance program provides free time-limited mental health counseling for freelance journalists at the discretion of our board member & psychiatrist dr. Anthony feinstein. In co-operation with cbc news and the dart centre for journalism & trauma we have created a series of high-quality videos and related resources covering a range of menthal-health training topics for individuals news organizations and journalism schools. We have continued to expand the range of resources curated on our website and have added a forum podcast exploring the special problems produced and hosted by our member with much experience in the field the documentarist judy jackson.
