Canadian Belgian Horse Association

The canadian belgian horse association (cbha) manages memberships across canada manages the transfers of horses between owners manages a dna database as well as the registration of purebred belgian horses. The cbha continues to test for jeb in horses to control the disease. The cbha publishes the canadian belgian banner a magazine that highlights ongoing cbha activity and also allows members to showcase their animals advertise share educational articles and publish show results to promote the belgian breed. The cbha youth program continues to educate and encourage youth to show their belgian horses. To qualify for the youth program youth had to show a belgian horse in a youth class at least twice and provide a short write up on what they enjoyed most. Results from the show season were sent to cbha directors for judging. Youth winners are published in the christmas issue of the banner and on our website and facebook pages. The winner of the annual youth program is announced in the spring issue of the banner and our website and facebook pages. The winner is also awarded a personalized sweater and a cash prize. The cbha also runs an all canadian program where nominees are selected and posted in the banner website and facebook pages. The winner is selected by cbha directors based on standard criteria for the breed. All of our programs are designed to educate breeders and owners on the changing trends of the belgian breed. None.
