Canadian Authors Association

We offer opportunities for professional development through webinars online meetings regular informational bulletins and other activities to support writers across canada. We also have an awards program the fred kerner book award for the best book by a member published in the previous year and we co-administer with the help of volunteers from our bc branch the whistler independent book awards. On a local level branches and their volunteers offer events with guest speakers writing circles and/or workshops. Activities vary from online national events to local in-person meetings. We manage an online member book catalogue for our members to provide enhanced visibility for published authors. In 2024 we introduced: 1. An online community platform through a service called circle 2. A new membership fee and benefit structure 3. We partnered with a puzzle maker to produce a custom designed canadian authors jigsaw puzzle featuring almost 50 book covers from our author members
