About Canadian Association of Maid Assessors and Providers
The Canadian Association of MAiD Assessors and Providers (CAMAP) is a national registered charity that supports physicians nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals involved in Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) in Canada. CAMAP’s programs focus on education professional support and practice development to ensure high standards of care in MAiD delivery. Key ongoing programs include: Professional Education: CAMAP delivers accredited educational programs including the Canadian MAiD Curriculum to train and support healthcare professionals in providing safe ethical and legally compliant MAiD services. Practice Support & Standards: CAMAP develops and disseminates clinical tools best practice guidelines and professional resources to support MAiD providers in their daily work and help ensure consistent quality of care across Canada. Community Building & Knowledge Sharing: CAMAP hosts annual conferences a community of practice (four online forums) and webinars that facilitate peer-to-peer learning mentorship and the sharing of emerging practices and research. Research & Advocacy for Best Practice: CAMAP engages in research initiatives and collaborates with academic health and policy partners to strengthen MAiD practice through evidence and education. While CAMAP does not advocate for expanded MAiD access it provides leadership in shaping standards and supporting MAiD professionals within the existing legal framework. All programs are designed to support healthcare professionals and ultimately ensure that individuals who are eligible for MAiD receive compassionate competent and ethical care.
