About Canada Virtuous Women (caviwo)

1. CAVIWO hosts 2 weekly virtual faith based financial literacy and capacity building meetings every Tuesday and Thursday and a virtual monthly retreat on the first weekend of every month providing psycho-social and holistic counselling to support widows children Single Parents and women's spiritual emotional and mental health needs. Guest speakers from around the world are invited to share messages of encouragement and faith during our virtual weekly meetings and retreats. A total of 105 virtual meetings and 12 virtual retreats in 2024 using our dedicated ZOOM platform. 2. CAVIWO welcomes women from diverse cultural and faith backgrounds into its events mentorship and community programs creating a space for intercultural dialogue. 3. In Canada we support immigrant and refugee women with employment advice and direction to ease integration while honoring their unique identities. CAVIWO also provides culturally sensitive spiritual and psychosocial support addressing the specific needs of women from varied backgrounds especially women facing domestic violence. 4. We participate in the yearly Black History month celebration in different churches throughout the month of February. 5. In November each year CAVIWO collaborates with Hope For Her Global to make our voices heard during the 16 days of activism against gender based violence (GBV) on social media. 6. ANNUAL GIRLS TALK a conversation with women of different backgrounds on the challenges faced in homes schools and workplaces. 7. Sponsorship of end of year dinner for the Black Student Leaders of the University of Ottawa 8. International Outreach: CAVIWO promoted education and relieve poverty in communities in Cameroon and Nigeria through partnerships and outreach programs carried out by over 25 volunteers to empower women through training programs and back to school supplies for children.
