Camp Bickell Incorporated

Camp bickell is a non-profit non-denominational children's charity operated by volunteer board of directors who have no share capital in the facility. During the season camp bickell operates in-house programming geared to youth 7-17. In addition it provides a facility at cost for other groups to conduct children's programming. In may and june the facility is used by other groups to run the following programs: outdoor education program for grade 6 children dare program for youth in grade 10 in partnership with the police services board camps for children with disabilities and an environmental awareness camp for elementary schoold kids from a geographical area of temagami to the south and hearst to the north. During june and early august camp bickell conducts traditional summer camp programs for children 7-14. As part of that program we ensure that no child is denied a camping experience due to financial restraints. Many less fortunate children are hosted free of charge. In august camp bickell in partnership with moose cree first nation run a camp for indigenous children from as far away as fort albany. The children attend camp free of charge and are taught the indigenous traditions from their elders. In partnership with canadian tire jump start program we have incorporated a physical activity routine on a daily basis concentrating on children's fitness. Canadian tire donated equipment.
