About Calgary Region Foster and Kinship Association
Members of the Calgary Foster Parents Association volunteer their time to organize and promote Youth Development Programs for the Foster Care and Kinship children and families such as skating swimming events Norquay sledding events roller-skating summer weekend camp family Corn Maze a Children’s Christmas Party and Aid to the Distressed. Training for all Foster and Kinship parents for an initial 192 hours of training over 4 years. In addition to the ongoing training it is required to have training for a minimum of 12 hours per year. CFPA staff provide mentoring to Foster Parents and Kinship families provide Recruiting services to find suitable Foster Parents and Screening of prospective Foster Parents and Kinship Homes and inspecting the home for safety and suitability for caring for children prior to qualifying a Home to be able to look after children in need. Citation Banquet to honour the Foster Parents’ years of service.
