British Columbia Technology for Learning Society

Our mission is to provide job training for youth and access to refurbished technology for British Colombians. Our vision is a BC where everyone has equal access to technology and to tools to facilitate learning. BC Tech delivers equipment through a variety of programs: * ISED's Computers for Schools Plus Program & Connecting Families Initiative * Government of Canada's Computers for Schools Interns program * TELUS Internet for Good *Tech for Home We accept donations of used computers from a variety of government and corporate donors. Youth refurbish the equipment as part of their work experience training before they are distributed to schools non-profit organizations Indigenous communities or low income family homes. In partnership with the Province of British Columbia's Social Development & Poverty Reduction the 'Access to Technology' program was initiated in April 2021 with a goal of procuring 9280 laptops for distribution to Ministry identified clients in support of their job/skills training. $10M in funding was provided for the capital purchase of laptops and administration delivery. This project is contract to close September 2024.
