Our mission is to promote healthy and hopeful living with lymphatic disorders. Our Vision is that patients with lymphatic disorders will have medical access to early diagnosis education and compression in all BC health regions. Our Goals are: Be the central organization to educate and encourage individuals to navigate treatment options in managing their lymphatic disorders. Advocate for financial coverage on behalf of those affected by lymphedema lipedema and chronic edema. Be a voice for patient-centered care by acting as a bridge between the healthcare community and patients. Encourage and support local national and international lymphatic research and development. BCLA provides ongoing support and education to our individual members by providing them with a copy of the quarterly Pathways magazine an annual BC resource directory monthly newsletter from BCLA Directors information on new treatment options research results and special events. We connect members with local support groups for regular meetings and provide topics to support group leaders. We have an information phone line support and email. We provide education seminars and regional workshops to our members We advocate on behalf of those affected by lymphedema. The BCLA advocacy committee is continuing work with MSP asking for healthcare coverage for initial diagnosis treatment and education. Hosted a Lymphatic Education Day Lower Mainland Conference in 2024 Award educational monetary awards to future Lymphedema Decongestive Therapists (CDT) to support the ongoing education of lymphedema therapist in BC.
