Bowen Island Museum & Archives

Museum: Collecting preserving and then presenting Bowen Island artefacts through a series of seasonally changing exhibits. Archives: Collecting preserving and making available Bowen Island photographs documents maps newspapers and interviews with long term residents through onsite visits or the internet. The Archivist assists research for local residents. A major ongoing project is the digitisation of the Archives' media so that they are available online. In addition a new book on Bowen Island is in preparation for publication. Both the Museum and Archives remain active in outreach programmes such as Heritage Week Community School Interactive programmes Junior Curator training Remembrance Day presentations with the Legion and other special events. A new book on the Island history is being prepared for publication.
